I thank my God upon every remembrance of you. Philippians 1:3

It is with many memories and tears that we say good bye to Camp on the Boulder, and to all of you who made our ministry here so special.

Our family arrived at Camp in the spring of 2000 with a one month old baby, an almost 7-year old son and 10-year old daughter, and a vision for serving Jesus in the mountains.

Today our baby (Kevin) is 11 years old and volunteers at the camp store. Our older son Jacob is 18 and serving as cook and on maintenance. Our daughter Kallie is 21 and will graduate from MSU next spring. All of our kids have helped us serve Jesus in every department at camp, growing up in this beautiful valley.

So when God called this spring with another job, it was difficult to say “yes.” It breaks our hearts to leave the awesome mountains and rushing Boulder River.

We will miss the additions made possible by loving volunteers…the prayer chapel, outdoor chapel, mini golf, disc golf, archery, craft cabin, ropes course…

It’s hard to say good-bye to the place where we lost three babies and several pets, and were evacuated from half a dozen fires. God showed Himself faithful in all of these trials.

But most of all, we will miss you, the people who make Camp on the Boulder special…the ministry team, prayer friends, volunteers, Nomads, guests and campers. Thank you for being part of our lives these twelve summers.

We will be relocating to the Big Timber area where Kent will maintain a property management company, while completing his masters degree in entomology. Jenny will continue to home school our kids and write for her Tea Cupp Prayers ministry. We will also be welcoming a new baby into our family this fall.

In closing we’d like to share a song with you. Kent grew up attending a country Methodist Church in Iowa, where each Sunday the congregation blessed each other with this hymn… “God be with you ’til we meet again; by His counsels guide uphold you; with His sheep securely fold you; God be with you ’til we meet again.” And so we leave you with this blessing.

Camp on the Boulder will always remain in our hearts and prayers.

Because of Jesus,
Kent & Jenny Chittenden

“LOOK UP!” is our theme this summer, because things are LOOKING UP at Camp on the Boulder. Our ministry team will LOOK UP to Jesus in their service here, and we hope all our guests are LOOKING for Him to come again.

Dear Friends of Camp on the Boulder,

Thank you so much for responding to our board’s recent fundraising letter. We are thankful for our board’s work to keep this ministry going, and for you answering their call.

“LOOK UP!” is our theme this summer, because things are LOOKING UP at Camp on the Boulder. Our ministry team will LOOK UP to Jesus in their service here, and we hope all our guests are LOOKING for Him to come again.

Luke 21:27-28 says, “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, LOOK UP and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” That is our prayer for everyone who comes to Camp on the Boulder.

We are excited about Nomads coming in June to finish the new childcare building in Missoula dorm, now named Gloria Anne’s Place. They will also finish the kitchen in Lower Magsig. It is your gifts and these volunteers who keep this ministry going.

Thank you again and may God bless you always.
Kent Chittenden, Camp Manager

Calling all Volunteers in Mission! You are needed at Camp on the Boulder! We are praying to fill July 2011 with Mission Teams! Bring your youth group, adult Sunday school, small group, family group, scouts group... you name it, we want you!!!

Calling all Volunteers in Mission! You are needed at Camp on the Boulder! We are praying to fill July 2011 with Mission Teams! Bring your youth group, adult Sunday school, small group, family group, scouts group… you name it, we want you!!! Mission teams come for almost half price, in exchange for 6 hours of projects each day. You can set your schedule and the amount your group would like to do. After work, enjoy the miniature golf, disc golf, craft cabin, archery, and low ropes course. Or take a picnic supper on a hike into the mountains and soak your feet the sparkling Boulder River. On the way home, go rafting and visit Yellowstone National Park. We have projects for you from trail building to painting to dishwashing to lawn mowing to whatever skills your group brings. Please join us in the beautiful Rocky Mountains this summer serving Jesus.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

Camp on the Boulder is located 40 miles south of Big Timber, Montana, one hour south of Interstate 90. We are just over the mountain from Yellowstone National Park, about a 3 hour drive by car.
